1. Who we are

Joe Sleeman LLC, doing business as DemandWire, is the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It is the party you contract with when you subscribe, and the party to direct any privacy request to.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

We never see or store your full card number. Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects card details directly. See Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Site analytics. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, time on page, and referring site. We use this to understand which pages work and which don’t.
• Email engagement. Our email delivery provider records whether a brief was opened and which links were clicked, so we know whether the product is being read.
• Server logs. Our hosts record IP address, timestamps, and requested URLs for security and troubleshooting.

We do not run advertising pixels and do not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising.

2.3 Business contact information we obtain from third parties

For sales outreach we obtain business contact information — name, job title, company, business email, business phone, company size and industry — from third-party data providers, including Apollo, and from publicly available business sources such as company websites, press releases, and professional directories.

This information is used solely to contact you about DemandWire in your professional capacity. Every outreach email includes a working unsubscribe link and our mailing address. If you ask us to stop, we stop, and we retain only the minimum record needed to make sure we don’t contact you again.

3. Information in our briefs about companies and their employees

Our briefs are built from public sources: state WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) filings, economic development announcements, chamber of commerce releases, government labor statistics, and regional business press.

WARN notices are public records published by state labor agencies. They identify the employer, the facility, the number of positions affected, and effective dates. Our briefs report employer-level information from these filings. We do not collect, publish, or sell the names or contact information of laid-off workers. Nothing in our product identifies an individual affected employee.

Where a brief names a person, it is a company executive or spokesperson named in a public announcement, reported in their professional capacity.

If you believe information we published about you personally is inaccurate, email us and we will review it.

4. How we use information

• Deliver and improve the briefs you subscribe to
• Create and administer your account
• Process payments and send receipts and renewal notices
• Respond to support and sales inquiries
• Send service messages about your subscription
• Market our product to business prospects
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models. Our briefs are generated from published sources and public records, not from subscriber data.

5. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and only for the purposes above:

We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to valid legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will note the change here.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

6. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the following rights. These rights apply whether we collected your information as a customer or as a business contact.

• Right to know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to.
• Right to delete. Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Right to correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right stands if that ever changes.
• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA.
• Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

To exercise a right, email [PRIVACY EMAIL] with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, extendable by another 45 days where permitted, and will tell you if we need the extension.

Verification. To protect your information, we will ask you to verify your identity — typically by responding from the email address on your account, or by confirming details only the account holder would know. We use the information you provide for verification only.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We will ask for written proof of the agent’s authority and may ask you to verify your identity directly.

Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out of sale and sharing.

Sources: you directly; automatically from your use of our site and emails; third-party business data providers; public records and publicly available business sources.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies for two things: keeping you logged in to app.demandwire.ai, and Google Analytics measurement. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics on any site by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may break the login on app.demandwire.ai.

8. How long we keep information

• Account and subscription records — for as long as your subscription is active, then seven years, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
• Billing records — seven years.
• Analytics data — per our Google Analytics retention setting, currently [14 / 26] months.
• Outreach contact records — until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, after which we keep only a suppression record so we don’t contact you again.
• Support email — three years.

9. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, encrypted databases, access controls limited to those who need access, and separate credentials for production systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by law if a breach involving personal information occurs.

10. Children

DemandWire is a business product, not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will post the updated policy here with a new effective date, and — for changes that affect how we use information you already gave us — notify subscribers by email.
